Founder story
Genette Comfort, MBA, CFRM, founded The Philanthropy Institute after more than 17 years of helping organizations fund what matters.
Her work spans strategic planning, major donor cultivation, board development, institutional advancement, and the infrastructure required for sustainable giving. She has raised millions for youth development, education, and social-impact initiatives across local, national, and international organizations.
Genette’s approach is direct, generous, and deeply collaborative: listen closely, build what fits, and leave every organization stronger.
